Meet VickMont: St. Louis-Based Videographer,
Storyteller, And Creative Forces
From a young age, Vick felt the pull of storytelling through a lens. Growing up in St. Louis, he was
inspired by behind-the-scenes footage on MTV of iconic music videos by artists like Dru Hill and
Jagged Edge. Encouraged by his mom, who always had a camera around the house, Vick began
experimenting with capturing moments that tell a story. What started as a childhood fascination
grew into a lifelong passion and the foundation of a promising career.

Although he briefly attended college, Vick ultimately chose a different path built on resilience,
creativity, and self-direction. Dropping out, he immersed himself in a self-taught journey, learning
the craft through experience and countless YouTube tutorials. His first videos were homemade
music videos, with his mom even stepping in as his first camera operator. This DIY approach
quickly led to paid projects, and his dedication only grew from there.

Vick's breakthrough came in 2016 when he left St. Louis for Atlanta, a move that opened doors to
working with major artists. That year, he filmed Migos’ video for F Up the Pot, which premiered on
WorldStarHipHop and significantly boosted his visibility. Over the years, he has worked with
prominent names like Boosie, Domani, DC Youngfly, Blac Youngsta and more. One of Vick’s most
memorable experiences came when he traveled to Dubai with Yo Gotti—it was a wonderful
experience that gave him a unique perspective on life at the top and left a lasting impression.
Today, Vick’s catalog includes over 4,000 music videos.

Originally launching his brand as Eagle Films, Vick rebranded to Vickmontfilms to align more
closely with his personal style and to reflect the direct connection he builds with clients.
“Everyone called me by my first name anyway, so I just went with it,
” he says. Now at 33, Vick’s
approach has evolved from the "drill" style of music videos toward storytelling that explores real
relationships, celebrates community, and captures life's shared challenges and triumphs.
Vick’s career has reached several milestones. In 2018, he was recognized on Deluxe magazine’s “30
Under 30” list for his influence in the creative industry. The following year, he earned his YouTube
100,000-subscriber plaque – a testament to his consistency, creativity, and commitment to
connecting with his audience.

Currently, Vick is most passionate about launching his content course, which focuses on teaching
his unique editing techniques. Designed for aspiring videographers and editors, the course reveals
the methods and stylistic choices that set his work apart, providing practical, step-by-step
instruction for achieving his signature look. Alongside this, he’s focused on building a dedicated
team, aiming to expand his reach and support his vision in even greater ways.

Driven by his faith, Vick sees every project as a chance to create a lasting impact. Known for his
respect, responsibility, and creativity, he has recently expanded his repertoire to include short
films and podcasts, using these formats to tell stories that resonate deeply and encourage viewers.
His faith plays a central role in his journey; he credits God with guiding his path and motivating
him to persevere, even when he faced challenges like sleeping on a couch for six years and
working tirelessly to provide stability for his family.
Looking ahead, Vick aims to grow his audience to one million YouTube subscribers and release a
personal film on platforms like Amazon Prime or Netflix. Although he already has projects on
Prime and Tubi, he dreams of creating a feature film that’s entirely his – a project where he can
tell his story in his own voice.

In an industry where content creation is becoming increasingly competitive, Vick remains focused
on maintaining a distinctive style. His advice to upcoming videographers: “The world is full of
clients, so there’s no need for competition when you’re creating your own path. Stay prayed up
and ask God to align your plans with His.”

Deeply connected to his hometown, Vick remains committed to leaving a lasting legacy in St. Louis
while expanding his reach. If given the chance, he’d love to return to Africa – a place he fell in love
with after a visit to South Africa years ago – to capture the vibrant culture, people, and wildlife.
With over 10 years in the industry, a remarkable body of work, and a mission driven by faith and
resilience, Vickmont Collins is well on his way to leaving an indelible mark in the world of
videography.
